EU referendum: and the result will be …

No, we can’t predict the result of tomorrow’s EU referendum debate. But we can offer you a sneak preview of the possible outcome by voting in our very own Food Manufacture poll.

During the long run up to tomorrow’s vote, the Food Manufacture Group has impartially reported the arguments in favour of remaining within the EU and of quitting the union. We have tried to explore how the decision will impact the prosperity of UK food and drink manufacturers.

Highlights of our coverage included: Greencore ceo Patrick Coveney’s video interview, after our Business Leaders’ Forum, in which he set out four reasons why he claimed food and drink manufacturers would be better off inside the EU.

We also reported the arguments put forward by leading anti-EU campaigner and former environment secretary Owen Paterson in favour of quitting the union.

The food manufacturing case for remaining within the EU was explained by Sir Stuart Rose, chair of Britain Stronger in Europe and former Marks & Spencer boss in an article written exclusively for FoodManufacture.co.uk.

We reported too, the advice of organisations such as the Food and Drink Federation, Confederation of British Industry and the manufacturers’ organisation EEF, to name but three.

We also asked Food Manufacture readers how they planned to vote in our state-of-the industry survey.

Generations to come

Whatever your view about the merits of the respective arguments, there is no doubt tomorrow’s decision will affect the lives and prosperity of Britons for generations to come.

After all arguments, the claims and the counter claims, tomorrow (June 23) is the big day. So, how will you vote?
