Unite calls for ‘copper bottomed guarantees’ on Lucozade sale
Unite regional officer Trevor Hall said the union's representatives will be meeting management today (September 9) to demand the guarantees.
Detriment to their jobs
“Unite will be keeping a careful eye on developments to ensure that staff being transferred to the new owner once the deal is completed do not suffer any detriment to their jobs,” said Hall.
“While there have been no indications so far of job cuts, the union will be proactively working with GSK and Suntory to ensure this remains the case.”
Suntory acquired Orangina Schweppes for £2.2bn in 2009 and is based in Japan and listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
