Greencore wins Marks & Spencer Silver Accreditation

Greencore’s Grocery division has won Marks & Spencer (M&S) Silver Accreditation for its Evercreech site in Somerset.

The business won the accreditation in the retailer’s How We Do Business supplier audit. The award was made after M&S auditors visited the site to score its performance against three main criteria: ethical operations, environment and economy.

Three main criteria

As part of the audit, the M&S team heard presentations, toured the site and questioned colleagues.

Greencore Grocery is a leading UK manufacturer of own-label and branded cooking sauces, pickles, frozen Yorkshire puddings and toad-in-the-hole. The division also manufactured: celebration cakes, Christmas cakes and chilled desserts.

In addition to production at Evercreech, Greencore Grocery also operated from Selby, Leeds and Hull.

Greencore md for Food-to-Go Convenience, Steve Evans said: “Manton 110 with its strategic position next to a main Greencore manufacturing facility, and excellent transport links, will be a key facility in our continued expansion.”
