Boosting productivity at Coca-Cola’s Wakefield factory

Boosting productivity by improving employee engagement is a four-step process at Coca-Cola European Partners’ (CCEP) Wakefield factory.

In this exclusive video interview, Trevor Newman, supply chain operations director at CCEP's Wakefield site, told FoodManufacture.co.uk how he used these four key strategies to lift productivity.

Filmed as part of our Me and my factory profile of the factory, Newman explained: “Engagement is vital, because once you get the engagement, you get the performance and the results that come with it.”

Newman talked about how providing staff with both clarity about their roles and the right tools for their jobs were vital pre-requisites in the plan to increase productivity.

Recognition of workers achievements

He also explained how he took the time to recognise the achievements of his staff and how important it was to build a strong relationship between line manager and their teams.

Meanwhile, staff engagement was also a top priority at Kinnerton’s Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire site.

In an exclusive video interview, factory general manager Mark Bullock revealed the schemes in place to engage his staff, as well as the factories plans to fully embed a lean manufacturing programme.
