The vacancies – spanning a number of different roles – will be available mainly in December. But some staff will be recruited before and after December.
A Greencore spokesman said: “We can confirm that our Evercreech site is advertising for up to 300 temporary roles in the run up to Christmas.
‘Other opportunities’
Greencore’s 330 vacancies
- Seasonal roles
- All production vacancies
- Available mainly in December
“These roles would be available between December 15 and December 23, though there will also be some other opportunities before that and at the start of the New Year. This is a peak period for products produced at the site.”
The vacant roles were classified by the manufacturer as “all production operative roles” and will be based throughout the business.
Greencore manufactures 100M cakes, including 3M Christmas cakes, and desserts every year. In addition to producing cakes, puddings and desserts for most of the major UK retailers, the firm’s UK Grocery business also manufactures ambient cooking sauces, table sauces, pickles and Yorkshire puddings.
Manufactures 100M cakes
The manufacturer’s Grocery Division was said to produce more than 160M units a year across 600 different product lines.
In July last year, the Evercreech site won Marks & Spencer (M&S) Silver Accreditation in the retailer’s How We Do Business supplier audit. The award was made after M&S auditors visited the site to score its performance against three main criteria: ethical operations, environment and economy.
Meanwhile, this July Greencore revealed its acquisition of The Sandwich Factory from Cranswick for £15M, as part of its strategy to boost its food-to-go business.
Commenting at the time, the firm’s ceo Patrick Coveney said: “This acquisition makes strong strategic sense for Greencore, given our ongoing focus on the food-to-go market.
“The Sandwich Factory will extend our reach into customer channels in which we are currently under represented, notably convenience stores and the travel sector, and will also bring new product types into the Greencore portfolio.”
