Ilapak is introducing some of its latest innovations in electronic packaging technology at IBA 2003, demonstrating new methods for bakeries to boost production line efficiency. Offerings will include low-cost electronic flow-wrappers to high performance modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) machines.

On display for the first time in Germany is the new Carrera 500 PC, an exceptionally versatile electronic flow-wrapper designed to wrap any type of bakery product, from French loaves to single bread rolls.

Claimed to be one of the most competitively priced electronic flow-wrappers on the market, this easy to use machine offers high performance standards and is capable of speeds of up to 100 packs a minute. It also has many standard features designed to improve production line efficiency including no-product-no-bag and automatic size change.

Ilapak says that pack quality is an important advantage, with the machine's rotary sealing jaws ensuring first class seal quality, enabling smaller companies to match the pack quality usually associated with larger organisations using more expensive equipment.

Also from the Carrera range is the Carrera 2000 PC, a new generation flow-wrapper which offers unprecedented flexibility, efficiency and reliability.

Characterised by its modern, ergonomic design, the stainless steel Carrera 2000 PC is said to offer exceptional hygiene standards and is designed to wrap a wide range of food and bakery products.

Controlled by an industrial PC and equipped with an INTEL microprocessor, the versatile flow-wrapper has a wide range of efficiency enhancing electronic features such as misplaced product, no-product-no-bag and easy size change. It is capable of speeds of up to 150 packs a minute.

Completing the display is one of the latest additions to Ilapak's Delta range of MAP flow-wrappers which are designed to produce high quality hermetic seals to extend the shelf life of most types of food and bakery products.

A key feature of the fully electronic Delta 2000 LD is its long dwell sealing head which is said to extend the horizontal sealing time to produce exceptionally high quality hermetic seals.

Versatile and easy to operate, the Delta 2000 LD has no-product-no-bag and misplaced product detection features as standard. It can handle a wide range of product sizes and is capable of producing up to 60 packs a minute.
