RHM has shed its McDonald's burger bun factory and the logistics arm which delivered 1m cases of product a week.
Golden West's bakery, which has a £40m annual turnover and 265 staff, was bought by US-owned East Balt Guenther Bakery, while Golden West's logistics business, with a £60m turnover, has been bought by Philadelphia-based Keystone Foods. Also, RHM is to stop making liquid products such as milkshake syrups for McDonald's.
Golden West employed 1,000 people in Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, Heywood in Lancashire and Basingstoke in Hampshire.
