Freezelite is the latest development in Heinen Freezing's range of compact fluidised bed freezers for the cooling and freezing of bulk flow products.
It is suitable for the handling of diced meat, shrimps, mussels, and other seafood as well as of vegetables, berries, and French fried potatoes.
Described as the 'little brother' of the company's Blizzard range, the new units can handle 1500kg/h (the F15 series) and 2500k/h (the F25 series). Exterior dimensions are 2800mm width, 3100mm height, and standard model lengths.
Other features include a waterproof welded stainless steel floor tray, all major components made from stainless steel, frequency-controlled fans for the optimum matching of the air speed to the product, and a 800mm usable belt width in plastic or metal, as desired.
A reduced product layer in the pre-freezing zone ensures immediate freezing and separation of the individual product, while in the main freezing zone the product is frozen thoroughly with a larger product layer thickness, says the company's marketing and sales support manager Bettina Pageler.
Heinen has also developed what it claims is the first compact and completely-on-a-subframe mounted freezer. The Polaric is a hybrid between a spiral system with belt rails (where the belt slides on support rails) and a self-stacking spiral system (belt side plates are self-stacking), thus combining the best of both worlds. "A central drum drives and, at the same time, solidly supports the belt system," says Pageler.
