Health secretary Patricia Hewitt has appointed two new members to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) board. Dr Ian Reynolds joined the board on May 1 and Michael Parker will join on June 1.
Reynolds, 55, has a strong science, regulatory and healthcare background and has held both executive and non-executive roles across the public and private sectors. He is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
Parker, 45, has a background in business, finance and the NHS. He has also been a non-executive director and vice chair of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and is currently the chair of King’s College Hospital NHS Trust.
