The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has appointed Nancy Robson and Tim Bennett to its management Board.
Robson was the former chair of the FSA Consumer Committee and a member of the National Consumer Council’s Consumer Councils Forum. She was also a Board member of the charity Children 1st.
Bennett was a farmer near Camarthen, in South West Wales. He held the position of deputy president and then president of the National Farmers Union of England and Wales between 1998 and 2006.
He is now on the Council of Food from Britain, a member of the Agricultural Land Tribunal and chair of the Milk Sector Company of the new Levy Board UK.
Meanwhile, Richard Calvert will join the FSA as director of strategy and resources, moving from his current role as finance director at the Department for International Development. He replaces Pat Stewart, who is retiring from the FSA at the end of April.
