California Raisins is welcoming applications for its innovation award. Last year, the firm received entries ranging from honey products, to sauces and mainline bakery and snacking products.

"Last year we received a range of muffins using 46% California raisins to flour weight," says the firm's marketing director Peter Meadows. "The number of raisins in each muffin equated to an average 40 berries, which is unprecedented in a muffin."

The closing date for the competition is May 31. The winning entry will win a trip to California.
