Kluman and Balter, which lays claim to being the UK's largest independent supplier to the baking industry, is rebranding its Kaybee range and increasing the number of own-label products available.
The firms aims to offer customers quality, consistency and value, says Jamie Kluman (pictured). "We believe that by offering more of our own-brand products as well as customers' favourite brands they will get exactly what they want - consistent results from top-quality ingredients."
The company sources standard and exotic products worldwide to provide manufacturers with sugars, syrups, fondants, iceings and sweeteners, and also offers a range of sweets that includes mini-mallows, jelly beans and choc drops that can be used as decorations.
Other ingredients in its range are Amareno cherries, honey coated banana chips and plump pitted dates.
Despite concerns over healthy eating, the confectionery market was worth some £4.41bn in 2006 and hand-crafted items, such as bite-sized fondant fancies, truffles and dainty cakes remain popular with consumers.
