Bernard Matthews is seeking planning permission to incorporate wind farms into its sites in Pickenham, Weston and Holton in Norfolk, generating 15MW of electricity.
Chief executive Bart Dalla Mura said: "We're applying for permission for three test wind vanes in areas where they will have the least environmental impact on neighbouring sites."
The company's eventual plan is to construct two wind turbines on each of the sites, which will feed power into the national grid. Dalla Mura said it could take up to two years before they were operational.
The sites currently use 11MW of electricity, so the turbines will produce enough to sustain them as well as pumping a further 4MW into the national grid.
Apart from looking at renewable energy, Dalla Mura said Bernard Matthews was working on methods for dealing with packaging waste.
