Selo has introduced the APIS Spektron meat analysis system from Prediktor in Sweden.
The APIS Spektron is a near infrared (NIR) non-contact system for the continuous on-line analysis of the chemical composition of ground meat.
It is effective on both fresh or frozen meat products. The system takes continuous, real-time measurements of fat content, moisture, protein, and salt to give updated averages. This eliminates the need for sampling or laboratory analysis. It can be fully integrated into a process line.
The system will automatically adjust the process to meet this specification, eliminating out-of-spec product and the need for re-working.
It can also measure and record temperatures and weights. And it will store this data and make it available as real-time documentation.
