British Sugar Group has appointed Gino De Jaegher, md for UK and Ireland. Reporting directly to Group chief executive, Mark Carr, he will take up the role at the beginning of September 2007.
For the past six years with Procter & Gamble, De Jaegher has held the role of md, UK and Ireland Paper Business Unit with full responsibility for the half billion pound UK and Ireland paper business.
Mark Carr, British Sugar Group chief executive said: “Gino is well known and respected amongst UK retailers and has an excellent understanding of key customer relationships. I am confident he will provide first class leadership and direction for the UK business, ensuring it is in the best possible position to take advantage of any business opportunities arising from the on-going reform of the European sugar industry.”
De Jaegher said: “I am delighted to be taking up this exciting role with one of the most successful and dynamic businesses in the UK and Europe. Prior to his last role, De Jaegher held a number of marketing roles with Procter & Gamble in Belgium before moving to Turkey to establish the company’s beauty care business. He subsequently moved to the position of Marketing Director for the Sunny Delight business across Europe.
