The Foodvest Group, which is the parent company of both Young’s and Findus in Europe, has significantly strengthened its sustainability agenda with two new appointments.

Mike Mitchell has been instrumental in developing Young’s ‘Fish for Life’ programme and particularly its ‘Ten Principles for Seafood Sustainability’ which were recently also rolled out to Findus’s European operations. He is now appointed to the new position of head of seafood sustainability for the whole Foodvest group.

The second appointment is of Anna Roslund who is moving to the UK from France to take up the position of sustainability development manager for Foodvest. She was formerly employed by Findus France as quality & industrial development director, based in Paris. As well as responsibilities in the seafood sustainability area, Anna will also assist in the wider environmental and sustainability agenda for the Young’s business.

Mike Parker (deputy chief executive) of Young’s, says, “These are key appointments for our business and underline the enormous importance of our sustainability agenda going forward.”

(This announcement does not affect the role of Young’s ‘other’ Mike Mitchell, who remains managing director of Young’s Scampi business, based in Annan, south west Scotland.)
