Danish food dressing company Graasten Salater has installed six Grundfos NOVAlobe sanitary pumps to handle the transfer from production to packaging of its range of sauces. Graasten Salater is Denmark's leading manufacturer of tartar sauce, over 30 varieties of mayonnaise-based mixtures of fish, shellfish, vegetables, eggs and meat.

Increased demand had meant Graasten Salater needed a more automated production process. Previously, employees manually transferred finished products from the production area to packaging. The new pumps have replaced the manual process. They are able to handle delicate, viscous liquids such as ketchups, mayonnaise and other dressings, without affecting their composition.

The NOVAlobe positive displacement pump was the ideal choice because of its easy-to-replace, front-loading seals, which are mounted in replaceable shaft sleeves, and its sterile design, ideal for aseptic processes.
