The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) will absorb most of the roles of the Biscuit Cake Chocolate and Confectionery Alliance (BCCCA) from January 2008.
BCCCA director general Penny Hawley said the organisation had been discussing “how to handle increasing expectations of the sector, particularly in the area of sustainability” for more than a year. “As a result of this we have agreed that in future BCCCA should have a single focus on cocoa sustainability.”
FDF director general Melanie Leech said: “We look forward to welcoming BCCCA’s members into the FDF family, working with them on the issues affecting the sector and getting their input to our activities.”
