High summer temperatures of 34°C to 37°C at Buxton Spa Bakery have been reduced by up to 10°C following the installation of a Breezair Evaporative Cooling System from Seeley International.

It has dramatically improved working conditions for the 120 employees working in the bakery. And the lower temperatures have improved the overall quality and freshness of the bakery's cakes.

Buxton Spa Bakery produces over one million cakes a week. Prior to the Breezair system, the bakery used general ventilation equipment and open doors to reduce temperatures. This was ineffectual.

CoSaf Environments conducted a survey of the bakery. The construction of the building meant that process heat could not escape. At the same time, the workers, the ovens and bakery products were also heating the indoor air.

Two Breezair evaporative cooling machines were installed with four-way air diffusers directing fresh, cooled air into the main bakery area. At the same time an extraction system to remove warm air emanating from the ovens and associated plant was installed.
