The art of food factory resin floors
BASF Construction Chemicals' Performance Flooring division has supplied 3,000m² of its resin flooring systems to Hygrade Foods in Wiltshire. Part of the Tulip International Group, Hygrade Foods supplies meat products to supermarket chain Waitrose.
BASF supplied three different systems. These included 400m² of Mastertop 1326 Art Floor (pictured) to a design commissioned by Hygrade and designed and installed by Dutch artist Jeanet Hönig.
In Hygrade's manufacturing facility, 2,000m² of slip-resistant Ucrete UD200 SR flooring was installed. This is ideal for food manufacturing facilities since its profiled finish minimises slips and accidents and its surface can be cleaned to the same standard as stainless steel.
Also, 600m² of Mastertop 1270 was installed in the engineering workshops to provide a high-gloss, light-reflective, solvent-free finish resistant to oils, greases and impact.
