Top-load carton closer lifts output

The latest top-load carton closing system from Kliklok International is a straight-line machine which, says the manufacturer, lifts output speeds while offering greater layout options.

According to sales and marketing manager Michelle Tatum, speeds of over 200 cartons per minute (cpm) achieved by Vari-Straight are among the fastest on the market.

In the complex folding and gluing operation, involving the lid and three separate flaps, Kliklok says its proprietary pop-up lug system provides positive control at high speeds.

The top-load, tri-flap format is typically used for frozen foods such as fish fingers, but also for bakery items such as doughnuts.

In the same range, the 120cpm Vari-Right machine uses the same technology, but takes the carton through a right-angle turn.

Vari-Straight will be displayed on the Kliklok stand at the EasyFairs Packtech show, the NEC, Birmingham, February 11-12, 2009.
