From gluten-free ketchup to microwaveable purees

There was a great buzz at the IFE09 show held at the Excel exhibition centre in London last month, with a variety of exciting products being launched - ranging from organic children's treats to premium desserts.

Organic product launches included the Okey Dokey 100% Organic range of flash-frozen ready meals for children, from Organic Kids Foods. The company also launched a range of purées that feature a steam valve so that they can be safely microwaved. Also in the field of organics, Cotswold Fayre showcased an Amisa Organic Cheese and Pumpkin Seed bread made from spelt flour and encrusted with poppy and sunflower seeds.

Elsewhere, the Amazing Food Company launched five new products, including gluten-free ketchups: Peppery Moroccan Ketchup, Mild Curry Ketchup and Orange Chilli Ketchup.

Indulgence Patisserie, maker of premium own-label and branded desserts, celebrated its 21st birthday at the show, while duck supplier Cherry Valley celebrated its 10th. Cherry Valley, which sells to retailers and distributors, showcased its Farm Fresh concept, which introduces higher welfare standards.

"IFE09 provides the ideal opportunity for us to introduce this higher welfare duck to key players in the industry and communicate the versatility of duck," said Eric Jagger, sales and marketing director at Cherry Valley.
