New mix is a breath of fresh air
Cryogenics provider Air Products is joining forces with mixer and grinder manufacturer Weiler, with the promise of improved food product formation, easier maintenance and lower costs.
Air Products' Freshline Liquid Nitrogen Injection solution (LIN-S) will now be combined with Weiler's mixer-grinder equipment for fully integrated food mixing, grinding and cooling. The technology is ideally suited to red meat, but can also be used with poultry, fish, seafood and vegetables. Ingredients can be blended into a homogenous mix while being cooled rapidly using the LIN-IS cryogenic technology for greater consistency.
Both technologies can be connected to a cleaning-in-place system and operation, cleaning and maintenance, the firms claim, are simplified through software integration.
Uwe Rosenbaum, Air Products' new business development manager for food, says: "Customers are placing increasing emphasis on productivity. The combined offering of Air Products' Freshline LIN-IS and Weiler's mixer-grinder technology can improve quality and achieve valuable cost savings. Weiler's technology provides efficient mixing, while LIN-IS affords optimum control of the chilling."
