Trade promoter PS8 has risen from the ashes of government-backed export promoter Food From Britain (FFB) to act as ambassador for British firms at overseas shows.
The company is headed by founders Sandra Sullivan and Paddy Edwards. Sarah Briones, from FFB, has joined to spearhead its involvement in the Anuga 2009 show.
More than 50 companies have already been recruited by the business for the show, which is running from October 10-14 in Cologne, including group stands from Wales and Scotland.
UK Trade & Investment has appointed PS8 as an official Accredited Trade Organiser, managing stands at four international shows: Anuga, European Seafood, ISM and Biofach.
“Although starting as a new team, we are able to draw on our considerable experience and expertise in exhibitions and food exports to offer a complete package to UK exhibitors at a broad range of exhibitions,” said Sullivan.
Separately, environmental consultancy ADAS has taken over management and promotion of the EU Protected Names Scheme in England from FFB, on behalf of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
FFB finally ceased to function on March 31, after the government announced last year that the organisation had fulfilled its remit and withdrew funding for it.
