Asset and facilities management technologies have the most potential to make a business greener, according to new research released by software supplier Infor.
Within the UK, 40% of the senior IT decision makers surveyed put asset and facilities management at the top of the list when asked to rank their top three systems and processes with the greatest green potential. By contrast, only 17% thought that business intelligence and performance management technologies should even be included on such a list.
"These findings from a survey of nearly 300 respondents tell us that reporting and dashboards are thought to have minimal impact when it comes to actually changing the green profile of a business," said Andrew Kinder, director of solutions marketing for Infor. "To drive real and tangible business improvements you have to get to the immediately actionable operational issues such as energy consumption and carbon emissions."
