PepsiCo has appointed Richard Evans, currently general manager of Walkers Snack Foods, as the new president of PepsiCo UK and Ireland, with immediate effect.
Evans succeeds Salman Amin, who, after four years of building the company’s UK and Ireland business, has been promoted to the role of executive vice president for PepsiCo sales and marketing, based in New York.
Evans has been general manager of Walkers Snack Foods since December 2007 and since joining PepsiCo in 1990 has built an impressive track record across a range of products, markets and operating models.
As president of PepsiCo UK and Ireland, Evans will be responsible for a broad portfolio of snack foods including Walkers, Quaker, Tropicana and Copella.
PepsiCo chief executive officer, Indra Nooyi, said: “Evans has great depth of experience with PepsiCo and has demonstrated excellent results as general manager of Walkers, helping the business reach its highest ever market share whilst transforming the portfolio to broaden its health credentials and deepen its commitment to environmental sustainability.”
