The chairman and chief executive of McCambridge has stepped down from the board following his appointment as chairman of Alternative Hotel Group, operator of De Vere, Village Hotels and Venue.
Since October 2008, Andrew Coppel has overseen the turnaround of the McCambridge Group on behalf of the stakeholders. Under his stewardship, the group has been restructured, refocused and refinanced, “and he leaves the business well placed to compete successfully in the bakery sector”, according to statement released by the company.
Neil Fraser, who was recently appointed to the board as group commercial director from Grant Thornton, has today been appointed chief executive of the group and will lead the business through the next phase of its strategic plan.
While at Grant Thornton, Fraser was lead advisor to the group during the restructuring process and advised the board on the creation of the turnaround plan. Current deputy chairman, Michael McCambridge will be acting non-executive chairman, pending the appointment of a permanent non-executive chairman.
