High speed tray heat sealing

The recently launched Eclipse range of high-speed tray heat sealing machines from Packaging Automation promise speeds of up to 180 packs a minute in the TL6 twin-lane format and 90 packs a minute in the SL6 single lane.

An inside-cut option aims to reduce film usage and allows sealing film as thin as 17 microns. All of this is achieved by a cost-effective tray sealer with the smallest footprint in the industry for such a high level of throughput. With two-minute tool changeovers to allow for different recipes or tray shapes and sizes without a mobile loading jig, the range includes an inbuilt tool loading system combined with the lightest tools in the market.

Further efficiency savings include redesigned heater mats with an integrated thermocouple, manufactured from a new waterproof material that heats up 30% faster and has a significantly longer life.

A single impression removable cartridge with quick release cutting blades enables continued operation during routine maintenance while a minimal operator interface improves efficiency by pre-setting machine parameters.
