Food formulators move in on Chinese

Hydrocolloid producer Ashland Aqualon Functional Ingredients showcased its cellulosic food solutions in China last month.

"Food tastes may be regional, but the desire for improved health and wellness is global," said Laurie Kronenberg, new product leader, Food and Pharmaceutical, Ashland Aqualon Functional Ingredients. "Being able to use less sugar, less oil, and reduced milk fat are some of the benefits formulators who use our products can enjoy as they strive to offer their customers improved health."

Products on show include its Aquasorb cellulose gum, which increases moisture control in baking; and Klucel and AeroWhip hydroxypropylcellulose, which enables formulators to develop healthier dairy whipped toppings with reduced milk fat while retaining a creamy mouthfeel.
