Screen classification that can really cut it

A new Screen Classifying Cutter from Munson Machinery reduces hard, soft and fibrous materials into controlled particle sizes at high rates.

Model SCC-15-B features a proprietary rotor design that comprises cutter heads attached to a helical array of staggered holders called 'interconnected parallelograms' that continuously shear oversize materials against twin, stationary bed knives.

The cutter tips can be slid onto blade holders and secured with one retaining socket-head screw, enabling rapid replacement.

Unlike conventional knife cutters that slice material into strips and require frequent sharpening, this one positions carbide-tipped cutter heads along the entire shaft, with no frontal gaps between the tips. As a result, material is cut into uniform pieces with minimum imperfections and little to no generation of heat.

Material is fed through the top of an adjustable, double-baffled intake chute, or into the front of the chute via a hinged door. An independently powered, variable speed pinch roller is offered for horizontal feeding of material. Discharge is via gravity, pneumatic transition or independently powered belt or screw conveyor.
