Premier Foods sales director York departs

Premier Foods group sales director Ian York will leave the company at the end of the year to pursue "other business interests", a spokesman has confirmed to FoodManufacture.co.uk.

Aged 52, York spent 17 years working in sales-related roles at Premier. He is the first high-profile departure from the company since the appointment of new ceo Michael Clarke (now president of Kraft Foods Europe) was confirmed.

The food industry is also mourning the death due to illness of Premier's group technical and innovation director Paul Kitchener, who joined the company last September and was formerly ceo of Burton's Biscuits.
