Rising demand has prompted food logistics specialist, ACS&T Logistics, to invest more than £1M in 14 new fleet vehicles.

The new vehicles will operate from ACS&T’s distribution centres and help to supply new and existing food industry clients.

Malcolm Johnstone, the firm’s md, said: “This investment is a combination of expansion and renewal in our need to meet customer demand. In recent months we have secured a series of new clients and negotiated new, extended contracts with several long term customers including Young’s Seafood and 3663.”

Further investment

Further investment will continue over the next six months, he added.

ACS&T operates from four centres in Grimsby, Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury and Scarborough.

The firm operates: 12 cold stores, three ambient stores, comprehensive co-packing facilities and large, dedicated and shared user multi-temp transport fleets.

ACS&T is accredited with the BRC (British Retail Consortium) storage and Distribution certificate across all sites and temperature regimes in addition to the ISO9001 and 14001,” according to a company statement.
