Weetabix wins the food manufacturing crown
Mark Edwards, Weetabix business unit operations manager, scooped the top award at the 2011 Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards last week.
What clinched the award for the breakfast cereal and bar manufacturer was its ability to demonstrate achievements across several criteria at once. These included innovation in product development, with successful new cereal bars, growth in output and significant reduction in waste.
Chairman of the judges Paul Wilkinson said: "Weetabix is an absolutely fantastic success story: everything from category management, to innovation and productivity."
