The menus, graphics and symbols of the touch-screen have been designed to make sense at a glance. CFB says all controls and regulating functions can be called up, and actual and setpoint values shown or changed easily.
Protective functions are said to make operator errors "impossible". This protects it from damage, ensures efficient fuel consumption and minimises safety risks.
This also facilitates analysis and optimisation of boiler operation, since process data is saved on the memory card and can be called up on the displays.
"No matter how advanced the burner or fuel management technology within a boiler, the ability of the end user to operate it on a day-to-day basis is critical, since it is going to have a huge impact on the unit's efficiency, not to mention its longevity and fault-free running," says Derek Parish, md at CFB Boilers.
