Kingdom Bakers: 135 jobs under threat
Receivers RSM Tenon in Scotland have confirmed the interest in the business, based in Fife, and said it was now arranging sales packs and visits to the former Kingdom sites in Kirkcaldy and Dysart.
A spokesman for RSM Tenon said: “We are pleased with the interest, but would urge any other interested parties to make contact with us this week”.
"Kingdom Bakers is a well-known business in the bakery trade, and the receivership presents an excellent opportunity for a competitor or entrepreneur to acquire the assets and goodwill, including extensive production facilities.”
Pressure from creditors
The firm, which supplied bread, cakes and pancakes to leading supermarkets, went into receivership nine days ago citing severe cash flow problems and pressure from creditors.
Production has ceased at both sites and staff are currently facing redundancy unless a buyer is found that wishes to take on Kingdom’s assets.
A spokesman for RSM Tenon added: “Enquiries are continuing to be received, and RSM Tenon is now preparing sales packs, which will be circulated later this week. We will look to arrange site visits quickly thereafter. “
