The firm said that it had no plans to make more of the one-off brand cereal called Totes Amazeballs, based on Burgess’s favourite dessert Rocky Road, but due to an overwhelming response from the public it was a possibility.
The special cereal includes a mixture of Coco Pops, marshmallows, shortbread pieces and raisins.
A spokeswoman for Kellogg told FoodManufacture.co.uk “We created the cereal after Tim expressed an interest in developing the flavour on his Twitter page. This lead to some banter on email as to how we could create it and last week he received the cereal based on his ideas.
“It was a one-off for Tim to the upset of many fans. As it stands there are no plans to make more, but who knows with the power of social media these days.”
Disappointed people
Kellogg also said that “that there were a lot of disappointed people out there” as a result of the decision to limit the cereal to the singer of the popular Manchester band.
Since the creation of the cereal, Kellogg has been inundated with questions and requests for the snack, according to the firm.
The idea also sparked a flurry of comments on Burgess' Twitter page, including an endorsement from Coronation Street and I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here actor Anthony Cotton. Many fans also contacted Kellogg on Twitter, expressing an interest in the recipe.
One fan said on Kellogg’s page: “Wow. Got to try this. Tim Burgess’s very own breakfast cereal.”
Another added: “Really want to try Totes Amazeballs”.
Burgess confirmed he will serve the cereal to fans at the alternative music Festival Kendall Calling in July.
