Warsi spoke to FoodManufacture.co.uk immediately after winning the coveted award in the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards at a glittering gala dinner on November 5 at the Park Lane Hilton Hotel in London.

Short-listed candidates
The other short-listed candidates – selected by the Food Manufacture editorial team were – Judy Buttriss, director general of the British Nutrition Foundation, Michael Clarke, chief executive of Premier Foods, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, TV chef, James Lambert, chief executive of R&R Ice Cream and Levi Roots, food entrepreneur.
Meanwhile, the overall award, Food Manufacturing Company of the Year was won by Birds Eye brand owner Iglo Foods Group. It also won the trophy for Frozen Foods Company of the Year.
