UK savoury snack manufacturer Intersnack has appointed Sam Thain as factory general manager for its Corby site, home of its Pom-Bear snack brand.

Thain joins Intersnack from PepsiCo, where he worked for six years in various operational roles, primarily in the Walkers Crisps and Quaker Oats divisions and most recently as UK productivity manager. Before joining PepsiCo, Thain worked for 10 years in retail operations for Tesco.

Responsibility

He will take on responsibility for co-ordination of all functions at Corby, including site engineering, production, supply chain and logistics. Thain will also oversee future development of the site and serve on Intersnack’s UK leadership team.

Commenting on his appointment, Thain said: “This is an excellent opportunity for me to join a fast-moving business with manufacturing responsibility for one of the UK’s most dynamic snack brands. We have some exciting developments in the pipeline for Pom-Bear in 2013 and these should also drive some interesting innovation and substantial investment at the Corby site.”
