Allied Bakeries hopes its new production line will lead to increased efficiency
Allied Bakeries has invested in a new “energy efficient” bread production line at its Stockport bakery, as part of its £35M capital expenditure programme.

The firm claimed the new bread production line will deliver increased productivity, more streamlined working methods and improved staff performance.

Allied Bakeries regional general manager Carl Hampson said the site had been equipped with the latest technology, which was designed specifically for Stockport to deliver greater efficiencies.

‘Reduce waste’

“As well as being more energy efficient, the new plant will reduce waste during the manufacturing process,” said Hampson. “The layout of the factory has considered all aspects of safety, efficiency and ergonomics during its design to allow greater space for our staff to operate effectively.”

The number two supplier of branded plant bread in the UK pledged to introduce a five-week training programme to equip workers with operational, problem solving and diagnostic skills.
