Easy opening rates higher than green concerns
The study was carried out for packaging specialist Payne by JRA Research to identify and understand consumers' concerns with packaging. It involved interviews with more than 500 people across the UK.
Significantly, 85% of those who took part in the study said they had experienced some frustration with packs. The research identified the 10 types of packaging most likely to cause frustration, of which the top three were clamshells, cardboard boxes and bags/packets, and also examined attitudes among different age groups.
The results of the work were revealed at an EU packaging summit, which was held in Berlin in last month. Payne's md Martin Dallas unveiled the company's new plans under the tag Packaging Resolved, which will focus on its ability to provide solutions in four key packaging areas: opening, closing, informing and protecting.
