Rexam's new Finland plant to put energy in cans

Rexam Beverage Can will produce cans for Finland's original energy drink brand Battery at its new plant at Mäntsälä in Finland.

The 33cl cans, which are designed to use the can's natural shape to resemble a battery and the 'liquid energy' inside, are currently made at Rexam's plant in Denmark.

Following the inauguration of the new plant in January, production is being moved to Finland to make the process more efficient.

Antti Airaksinen, Battery brand manager at Sinebrychoff, says: "The plant is only 30 minutes from our brewery, which is really convenient and it was a simple choice to move our can supply to the new plant."

Tomas Westergren, regional sales director at Rexam Beverage Can, says "Battery is a really strong international energy drink brand and it's great that we can offer a more efficient solution. Our main focus has been to transfer the can production with little disruption."

Battery is sold in restaurants, gas stations, shops, kiosks and night clubs in Finland and in 40 countries across the globe.
