Food Manufacturing Excellence Award sent buzz through business

Winning a Food Manufacturing Excellence award sends a buzz throughout a business, according to one of the recipients of last year’s awards.

Dee Scott, chief operating officer at Border Biscuits, said it also sent out a “fantastic message to customers.”

In this exclusive podcast  ̶  starting with the awards citation  ̶  for FoodManufacture.co.uk, Scott reveals her shock that Border Biscuits won the Cakes and Biscuits Company of the Year Award at last year’s event.

She reflects on the glittering award ceremony held at the Hilton on Park Lane, London, and also discusses how it helped strengthen the firm’s team ethos.

Tackling the recession

Scott, who is based at the company’s Lanark factory, goes on to discuss why she thought the company won the award.

She reveals how they tackled the recession head-on by changing the business strategy and how innovative new product development work (NPD) had helped them stand out from the crowd.

Don’t miss our Me and My Factory feature with Scott in June’s edition of our sister title Food Manufacture magazine.
