Egg products firm shells out on upgrade

Egg mayonnaise to hard-boiled egg processor Bumble Hole Foods has cracked open its coffers to pay £3M on upgrading its manufacturing facilities.

The business, which also makes pasteurised liquid egg products and was established in 1973, is working with industry construction specialist Clegg Food Projects on the initiative, which it expects to complete early next year.

Bumble Hole Foods, which is based in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, has pumped cash into several recent upgrades, including new chilling plant for its hard boiled egg unit in 2011. FoodManufacture.co.uk understands that the total value of the new work comes to about £3M.

Grade A standard

The company claimed it “prides itself on upgrading its equipment and working environment to ensure it can supply products … to grade A standards set by food standard agencies and current legislation”.

“We have many prominent clients across the food and drink sector in the UK and internationally too,” said John Moxon, business development director, Clegg Food Projects.

“However, this project shows we are equally adept at meeting the needs of clients from privately owned family businesses.”
