Ready meal brand Charlie Bigham’s has made two new appointments as part of its bid to continue growing the brand into 2014.

The London-based firm, which recorded sales growth of 72% over the past year, has appointed Elizabeth Lown as its new head of kitchen excellence.

‘Vital part’

Lown will oversee efficiency improvements across the whole production process of the brand and form a“vital part”of Charlie Bigham’s growth plan, the firm said.

She joins from surfacing finishing firm Farécla Products, where she had held the role of operations director since 2007.

Lauri Duncan, a former human resources director at Adelie, has been appointed to the role of head of people as part of an attempt to build and develop food skills within the company.

Charlie Bigham said:“We are delighted to have both Lauri and Elizabeth join the team. Both bring such valuable expertise to the company and I am looking forward to their input as we continue to develop, grow and take the brand forward."
