Chinese food giant the China Food Company has appointed Fung Shek Lee as its new md, with effect from October 16.

Lee joins from another Chinese cooking sauce business Lee Kum Kee, where he had been md for the North Asia and Pacific Region.

Prior to this role he was head of sales and distribution for China and Hong Kong for tobacco company Phillip Morris Asia.

Chairman of the manufacturer of cooking and dipping sauces China Food, John McLean, said Lee would bring significant sales and distribution experience to the board.

‘Considerable and highly relevant experience’

"We are pleased to welcome Lee to the company, as he has considerable and highly relevant experience that he will bring to the board at this exciting stage in China Food's development.  His appointment … further strengthens the team considerably.  We look forward to Jeffrey's input to further drive the business forward."

China Food also appointed Rick Mak King Pui as chief financial officer and Daniel Saw as a non-executive director.
