Food manufacturing excellence awards 2013 – video highlights

Premier Foods took to the stage three times – picking up the awards for Company of the year, Ambient company of the year and Training programme.

Premier Foods’ Ashford factory general manager, Simon Ellmore, praised the teamwork and engagement​ of the staff at the site.

The md of Wyke Farms, Richard Clothier, was crowned Personality of the Year​, in recognition of his success in marrying the firm’s commercial success with its environmental initiatives. Wyke Farms was also awarded the Dairy company of the year.

‘Oscars of the food industry’​

Clothier said he was honoured to be recognised at the “Oscars of the food industry”.​

Speakers in the video include Mike Stones, group editor of Food Manufacture and award’s host Julia Bradbury.

Meanwhile, Paul Wilkinson, chairman of the judges, said it had been a “vintage year”​​ for entries.

Speaking after judging the 50-plus entries Wilkinson highlighted two key themes from this year’s award entries.

They were the key contribution of sustainability policies and the role of people – in the form of leadership, training and team motivation.
