Ingredients firm launches functional fruit concepts
Taura Natural Ingredients launched a range of functional fruit concepts at last month’s Food Ingredients Europe show.

There are three variants in the new line-up: URC Fruit & Protein – fruit enriched with milk and pea proteins; URC Fruit and Energy – fruit with natural caffeine from green coffee, plus guarana; and URC Fruit and Fibre – with natural fibre from fruit and healthy grains.

Functional URC fruit has been designed to create nutritious bagged snacks and snack bars that taste good, and is available for inclusion in chocolate, baked goods and breakfast cereals.

Taura chief executive Peter Dehasque said: “Energy, protein and fibre are key trends in the nutrition category, but delivering the benefits of these to consumers is a challenge. Taura’s URC fruit enables food firms to create next-generation products that provide functional benefits in a way that is natural, convenient and pleasurable – ticking all the boxes in terms of what consumers want.”
