Film: a day in the life of a fish box

Youtube suprise hit - a day in the life of a fish box
A film showing ‘A day in the life of a fish box’ – from port to plate – has proved a surprise hit on YouTube, according to its producers, the British Plastics Federation (BPF).

It’s the perfect packaging because it offers thermal protection, impact resistance, light weight and low resource usage. It’s 98% air, stackable, easily sealed and can readily be given a second life at the end of its conventional use,” says David Emes, chairman of the BPF EPS Group.

For these reasons, the BPF EPS Group set out to capture in just five minutes a 24h period in the life of just a few of the 22M fish boxes. Film crews recorded the landing of the day’s catch, the journey through the processing house and the onward transit to the UK’s major fish markets even the box’s arrival in a professional kitchen.

Fish box the movie can be viewed by visiting www.fishboxes.info or directly from Youtube.
