Iglo Foods Group has won the Supply chain initiative of the year award in the industry Oscars – Food Manufacture’s Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards (FMEAs), at the London Park Lane Hilton last month.

Craig Hamilton, supply chain director for Birds Eye Lowestoft, received the award from Dominic Watkins, head of food group with category sponsor law firm DWF.  They were joined on stage by awards presenter and TV Countryfile star Julia Bradbury.

The award judges – led by judging panel chairman Paul Wilkinson – praised Iglo Foods Group’s commitment to supply chain improvement.

‘Better forecasting accuracy’

The judges said: “Iglo’s Every Case Counts initiative was really excellent. The higher service levels achieved, combined with the better forecasting accuracy and stock reduction were truly impressive.”

“Iglo Foods has put supply chain improvements centre stage in its business, with continuous improvement projects key to its success.”

Also shortlisted in this category were: Avondale Foods and Thwaites.
