Young’s Seafood has appointed Wayne Hudson as its new md for its frozen food division.

Hudson joins from Kerry Foods, where he has held a number of management and directorship positions over the past 13 years.

Most recently he had responsibility for the firm’s £1bn branded and own label food business in his role as food group commercial director. He also had accountability for Kerry’s UK dairy business.

Meanwhile, Young’s also appointed Dominic Collins as purchasing director for chilled seafood. Collins joins from Icelandic Seachill where he was head of buying.

Prior to this, he held a number of senior purchasing roles with Rossfish, Cumbrian Seafood’s and Ice Fresh Seafood.

Both Hudson and Collins started their roles on January 6.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Young’s boss Leendert Den Hollander encouraged food manufacturers not to adopt a one-size fits all approach to new product development and instead segment their offering to particular types of shoppers.
